CICEM’s mission is to support awareness and and better understanding of traditionalist and classical liberal ideas among college students. It has one “core project” which is to provide gift subscriptions to one of six publications upon request of a college student. After that, it’s mission depends on the initiatives of others: students, faculty, alumni, parents and other friends of a college. Those initiatives can include: gift subscriptions to other publications, books, and support for speakers or attendance at conferences — all of which depend on crowdfunding by alumni, parents and friends who form a College Council to support such activities.
While the gift subscriptions are generally supported by a College Council formed to support such requests from students at a college, a generous grant allows CICEM to provide a limited number of gift subscriptions before a College Council is formed. In return, we hope you will assist in the formation of a College Council for your college by providing contact information for alumni and others who might be interested. A college Council’s requirements are simple: five or more individuals who collectively pledge at least $1,000 to provide free gift subscriptions upon request from students at that college. There is no requirement that any funds be contributed to CICEM. With that core project established, any other projects undertaken depend on the interaction between students, faculty, alumni and friends.
So, in return for a free subscription we ask that you suggest directly or via CICEM contact information for people who might be interested in joining in this effort.
